What We Do
Satarangi Saathi Foundation implements a wide range of community-centered programs to support LGBTQIA+ individuals in India. Our work focuses on building inclusive, safe, and empowering environments where queer and trans persons can access crucial resources, connect with peers, and thrive with dignity.
Support, Counseling & Peer Groups
We run confidential helplines, peer support groups, and counseling services for LGBTQIA+ individuals facing mental health challenges, identity acceptance concerns, or social isolation. Our trained counselors and peer mentors work to ensure emotional well-being and stronger community bonds.
Education, Skills & Livelihood
We provide educational opportunities, skill-building workshops, and employability support aimed at improving socio-economic inclusion for queer youth and adults. Through partnerships with inclusive employers and training programs, we help create lasting opportunities for economic independence.
Safe Shelter & Emergency Support
Satarangisaathi Foundation offers safe shelter options and emergency support for LGBTQIA+ individuals who have experienced family rejection or homelessness. These services include temporary housing, food assistance, and access to medical care and livelihood training.
Awareness & Sensitization
We conduct inclusive awareness programs and sensitization workshops in schools, colleges, workplaces, and communities to reduce discrimination and promote respect for diverse gender identities and sexual orientations. Our initiatives help build a more supportive social environment.
Health, Well-Being & Rights
We organize health camps, provide counseling on gender-affirming care, and facilitate access to HIV/AIDS education and testing. In addition, we engage in policy advocacy and legal support to protect LGBTQIA+ rights at local and national levels.
Community Visibility & Empowerment
Through events like pride workshops, cultural activities, storytelling campaigns, and leadership training, we amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and foster community pride. These efforts help reduce stigma, build visibility, and nurture queer leadership across India.
